Back to School
This just hit me today. I believe it’s because this past week I was seeing and hearing so much about going back to school and how everyone's excited for the school year. I have talked to a few kids that actually were excited to go back to school too, but for the most part, it’s the parents that are excited about going back to school way more than the kids.
So this got me thinking, and we will probably be going down a rabbit trail here, so put on your brier pants and get ready!
There are a few reasons that people are excited to be going back to school. One of them, and probably the most known, is routine and structure. You’re used to doing your thing, you’re used to working or whatever you’re doing, and when kids are out of school, it interrupts this routine. For most parents, they have a time to drop the kids off, they have a set time for breakfast in order to get them out the door in time, they have a time to pick them up, they have a set time for dinner to make sure they can get their homework done and still get in bed in time to get up early to start the routine all over again. They also say the kids need to have structure, and going back to school, having a routine, and being taught certain things is really good for them to grow their minds and their way of life.
Another one is social activities. Parents are normally excited for their kids to go back to school because they're going to have interaction with friends and other people their age, even though they may never have met before. Normally, school has opportunities for the kids to get into sports, music, art, and other activities as well, which they say really helps them develop and figure out what they like.
And last but not least, what I hear a lot is parents wanting the kids to go back to school because they can learn and get an education, which is important for their structure and their routine to have them set in their way of life moving forward.
Now, I'm sure there are a bunch of other reasons people like school, but these are probably the top three that I have heard talked about, so that’s what I wanted to touch on today and what popped into my head.
I'm here putting wiring in a building and insulating it at the moment, and it just hit me that we are so backward in this world. I never learned how to do this in school, and I was just thinking about that. Right now, I am 32 years old, and not one single thing I do in my life right now did I learn in school. I was thinking to myself, it has to be something, right? So I tried to think of everything possible, and the answer is still no, not one single thing. Someone told me the other day that that's not true because you use math every day, and that is true, but the math I use every day I learned before I even knew what a school book was. Another person said, "Well, you know how to read and write; you learned that in school." That would be true as well, but unfortunately, I never could read very well, and the little bit I could read I also learned before I knew what a school book was. The rest of it I learned on my own after I quit school. And as far as writing goes, absolutely that was taught in school; we had to write essays. I couldn't read them back then, and I still can't read them now. But luckily for me, I'm too busy to sit down and read or write, so neither one of those even comes into the equation. As of right now, I'm out here working, and I have my phone on dictation, and I'm just talking, and this is what you're reading right now.
One thing I remember from my schoolwork that I'll never forget is that the Earth spins at 700 and something miles per hour. I can't remember the exact numbers, but I know that's what it was in the school book. But as of right now, if you Google it, it says the Earth spins at 1000 mph. So somehow, it sped up, and I didn't realize it. I sure didn't feel it, but hey, at least I learned that in school, which is definitely relevant now for sure.
Another thing I learned in school that I always remember in my history books is that on July 21, 1969, Neil Armstrong walked on the moon in the area called the Sea of Tranquility. Man, Tranquillity, wow, that sounds amazing; I'm telling you, it gives me chill bumps just thinking about all these facts I learned in school. Although once I quit school and became an adult, and broke free from indoctrination and used the brain that God gave me to use to admire His creation and handywork on my own without having preconceived ideas and man-made rules and teachings.
I then realized that even today we do not have the technology to go to the moon, and that the spacecraft they used to get to the moon was made out of aluminum foil, almost like one of my school science projects that went bad, but nonetheless this thing is traveling at 24,000 mph through the Van Allen belts, which are somewhere between 3500-1.8 million degrees Fahrenheit. I thought our weatherman was bad because he was off by 5 degrees, but with this info I might have to rethink this, maybe the weatherman was better than I thought, I mean that's a pretty good gap, I believe that if the weatherman was over 1 million degrees off I believe he would be fired, just saying….. But luckily, that aluminum foil failed science project held up, which surprises me because I burn my aluminum foil on my grill at 500 degrees, but that's a whole other story.
Another thing I remember learning in school that is just “so true” is that the Earth is 4.5 billion years old. This is really important because, in order to know the age of the Earth, you have to control all of history. So when you're reading this in the history book, it's really crucial to know exactly how old this is. But now they've figured out that it's 4.54 billion years old, so somehow, in about a 30-year span of my life, the Earth aged 50 million years. It doesn’t make much sense to me, but when I think about it, it might explain all my gray hair and my tiredness!
But the school is actually teaching you all these so-called truths, and then you say, "Well, the Earth is actually 6000 years old” because that's actually what the timeline says, especially if you add it up and you use the one plus one equals two method, instead of X minus Z equals Y over C and E before N in chicken method."
But they are going to act like you are a conspiracy theorist and full of crap.
Then if you ask them why we are living in 2024, they don't have an answer. But yet, we clearly know that our current year cycle started with Jesus, so it's pretty simple when you use common sense and the God-given wisdom that He gives you instead of listening to a bunch of people that actually have zero idea of what they're talking about.
But kids do need to learn. They need to be taught the truth, and they need to grow up knowing who God is and knowing that Jesus is the only truth. Without Jesus, everything is meaningless. But are they going to find this in schools?
It's really funny to me that the only purpose for schools to begin with was so the kids could learn about the Bible and God. That's it, and now kids don't even know what the Bible is, and they're getting taught all these lies being passed off as the truth.
My question is, why is everyone so excited about sending their kids off to get indoctrinated with lies and heresies and absolutely meaningless content, to grow up in the same rat race that you're so sick and tired of dealing with, knowing that if you do want to raise them right, when they get home, you will have to explain to them that half the stuff they learned is a lie but it's still better than not going to school because you were able to meet some of your friends that do not believe like you, do not like you, and will probably lead you astray but it's very important because that's what we were taught to do, and we got to keep up with tradition.
Why be excited about that when they could follow their parents around, learn firsthand experience from them, and also be taught the love of Jesus through the parents' actions every single day of their lives, helping them grow up in the right way so when they are old, they will not depart from it?
I know what you're thinking. If you've gotten this far through this, you're going to say, "This guy is a freaking idiot," and you might be right. You also probably sang, "You don't have kids, so you have absolutely no clue how it would be," and that would be correct. But I do know what the Bible says about kids, and I will throw this out there just for those who are pretty pissed off right now just to cool their temper down a little bit. But you're the one that has the kids, you're the one that wanted the kids, and you're the one that needs to teach your kids. You can't say, "I want kids, I love kids, I want to raise kids," and then send them off to prison for most of their growing-up years. That's absolutely 100% backwards from the way it should be and from how God intended it to be.
And you still might say, "Well, what about the social activities?" This is especially for Christians. We, the people, the born-again Christ followers, are His body, the church. I've said this so much that I could turn blue in the face, but if we are one body and are supposed to have one mind, why can't we get together and fellowship together and love Jesus together without any rules, religions, regulations, and traditions? It's because we love our religion, we love our traditions, and like Jesus says, they would rather have man's praise than God's praise. So we send our kids off to school where there are different religions, different beliefs, different crap being taught, and it's all 100% OK because we tell our kids just don't mention Jesus, don't mention religion because you might get into an argument and you want to make friends, so don't say anything and everything will be OK. With this attitude, it's why they took prayer out of schools; it's why they took the 10 Commandments out of schools, and it's the reason this country is so far downhill. Not to mention again, the only reason there were ever schools was to teach kids about the Bible and to teach kids about God! Do you see where this is going?
Well, if not, I'll go ahead and tell you. Why can't us Christians come together, fellowship together, let our kids have fun and play together, start activities together, start a community together, and be able to share Jesus and their testimonies with each other, building each other up, encouraging one another, loving one another, and actually helping this next generation be the actual body of Christ, His church?
Well, folks, that's long enough. You understand what life is about, you understand that Jesus is the only way, the only truth, and the only life. You understand what's important and what's not, and we probably will have a few fewer friends, but a true friend sticks closer than a brother.
Until next time, and from now on, I hope the good Lord blesses each and every one of you.
